ABOUT THE AIRPORTS IN ANTALYA
Antalya is one of the major tourism hubs in Turkey, with numerous Iranian and Turkish flight transferring passengers from Iran to Antalya. Given the great flow of passengers, flights land in one of the three airports of Antalya. Your landing airport depends on the airline you choose to fly.
Most inbound flights to Antalya land in Isparta, Denizli, or Antalya airports.
If you choose an Iranian airline, you would land either in Denizli or in Isparta.
In case you wish to land directly in Antalya, you would need to book your flight with one of the Turkish airlines.
The main international airport is located 13 km from Antalya to the northeast of the city.
It is one of the largest air hubs across the nation, which ranked second in Turkey and 15th in Europe in 2015 handling 8 million passengers. It has 3 terminals: terminals 1 and 2 are for international flights, and terminal 3 is dedicated to domestic air traffic. Antalya airport only allows aircrafts of various Turkish airlines, and other flights land in the nearby airports.
This airport was opened to flights back in 1998. It was announced the best European airport in 2011.
ANTALYA AIRPORT
Located to the east of the city, Antalya Airport is the third busiest in the country. Terminals 1 and 2 are for international flights and terminal 3 is domestic. Terminals 1 and 2 are 2.5 km from terminal 3, and can be accessed by bus line number 600.
DENIZLI AIRPORT
As Denizli is located in close vicinity to Antalya, some inbound flights from Iran land in Denizli airport, and then, passengers reach Antalya by car. Denizli airport is in fact a military airport which can be accessed by civilians.
The city is 174 km from Antalya and is further from Isparta Airport.
ISPARTA AIRPORT
Isparta Airport is yet another one located near Antalya. It is 140 km from the south of the city.
The transfer between this airport and Antalya is very convenient.
It is only a 3-hour road trip, and numerous Iranian flights land in this airport every year.
GAZIPAŞA-ALANYA AIRPORT
Alanya Airport can handle 1.5 million passengers with a terminal of 6700 m2 area and a safe parking holding 105 cars. The parking fees vary depending on the type of vehicle and the period of stay.
The airport also features pray rooms, lost and found desks, emergency rooms, luggage wrapping machine, bank and exchange offices.
There are branches of various stores and restaurants in the terminals, where passengers can eat and pass time while waiting for their flights.
Alanya Airport is closer to Alanya than Antalya Airport (a 30-minute drive from Alanya compared to 120 km and 2-hour drive to Antalya).
A transportation company handles the transfer of passengers to and from airports across Turkey. Coaches of the company serve passengers at Alanya Airport as well. Passengers can catch one within 25 minutes after landing, and the journey takes 60 minutes.
Airport shuttle taxis are managed by Gazipaşa Airport and run to various destinations at fixed rates payable in Turkish lira or euros.
As coastal cities in Antalya are not far from each other, visitors can rent cars to travel around the area and visit historical sites and other tourist attractions. Thus, car rental services are offered to the passengers upon arrival at the airpot.
